Day 2 Dinner Guest: Summer Watkins of Grey Likes Weddings!

We are happy to announce that stylist and curator, Summer Watkins of Grey Likes Weddings will be joining us for dinner on Day 2 of CONFAB 2012!

This will be Summer’s second time joining us for CONFAB and we are thrilled to have her back with us.  For those of you who were not able to make it to CONFAB earlier this year, Summer shared some great information with us and all of our attendees absolutely LOVED her!

With Summer’s background as a stylist and editor, she is an expert when it comes to determining what works and what doesn’t in a wedding style shoot.  For all of you who are thinking about getting into the wedding industry, one way to get your name out there is to do style shoots and get them featured on blogs such as Grey Likes Weddings.  So don’t miss this great opportunity to talk to Summer and hear what she has to say about the best style, photos, and themes that will help you with your very own style shoots!

Also, please check out Summer’s workshop, Shoot This Not That where she teaches photographers how to shoot Weddings and other Editorial pieces.

Life after CONFAB, by Ashley Nguyen

Recently we asked Ashely Nguyen, one of our very special Coordinator Confab 2011 Attendees to tell us a little bit about her life after attending Confab this past June.  She graciously shared her thoughts on Confab and since her attendance at the seminar, has even started her very own company!

Ashley writes:

“Life after Coordinator Confab has been exciting, rewarding, and very productive.  I am new to the industry so with all of the useful knowledge that I gained from the seminar, I knew that I needed to take action and put my ideas into motion.  Following the seminar, I first created an inspiration board to help fuel my motivation.  I used the inspiration to accomplish the following things: brainstorm and subsequently decide on a business name, complete a related trademark search, set up a company Twitter account, set up a Facebook fan page, register the domain name for my website, decide on a color theme for my brand, work with a consultant regarding some online strategies and finish reading the book that was recommended by Jeannie Savage, “Selling the Invisible” (great book!).  The second phase of my initiative is to create a company logo, apply for my business license, complete my business plan and develop my website.  Once those pieces are complete, I am confident that l will be able to implement the tools and guidelines provided during the Coordinator Confab to help me successfully execute future events with confidence and expertise.

I am very proud to have been part of the pioneer Coordinator Confab group and am positive that the seminar will only get better and better with each passing year. Sure there are other websites out there that provide ideas and tools, like a simple checklist, but Coordinator Confab provides an inside look into the “how to’s” and real life experience from the event and wedding planning industry.  Having the experience of learning from the Details Details team, who are well-respected in the industry, has been invaluable.  If you are looking to obtain useful information and gain practical knowledge, the Coordinator Confab cannot be missed!”

We are so proud of you Ashely and can’t wait to watch you develop and grow your business!  We sure love our success stories!

Coordinator CONFAB featured on Wedding Chicks!

We have some exciting news! CONFAB has been featured on one of our favorite wedding blogs, Wedding Chicks!  Here’s what they wrote:

For those of you that are unfamiliar with CONFAB, it is an interactive 2-day seminar designed to educate aspiring and Novice Wedding Planners, Coordinators, and Designers. This seminar is also ideal for those serious Wedding Planners who have creative design capabilities, but have not received hands on comprehensive training in relation to event execution.  Our seminar will cover the fundamentals of Wedding Day Coordination as well as detailed instruction on how to properly execute a wedding from beginning to end, including understanding BEOs, reviewing vendor contracts, and properly drafting an extensive minute by minute timeline.

CONFAB is open to any and all people, no prior knowledge or experience in event planning is necessary, the only requirement is a passion for events!
