Life after CONFAB, by Sam Kwon

We always love to hear what our past attendees have to say about their experience at CONFAB.  One of our very special attendees, Sam Kwon has offered to share with us his thoughts on the seminar and how it has helped him further his career in the event planning field.  Sam came to us with prior knowledge and experience in events, so it was interesting to hear what he had to say about the things hear learned and how it influenced his decision to join the wedding industry.

Sam writes:

“I come from a world of Hollywood where I represented my clients by hosting parties and events to promote their products and services. Taking the leap into the wedding field was a whole new world for me. So for my wedding education, I looked online.

Browsing through all these different wedding associations and training classes, I came across a very vibrant wedding blog done by Details Details that grabbed my attention. Scrolling through their site I fell in love with everything about the company and to my luck, they were hosting their first Wedding coordinator training conference. With excitement I signed up!

Intimidated at first on not knowing what to expect at the Coordination CONFAB, I took my first step into the Conference room of the SLS hotel in Beverly Hills. The moment I took a step into the room, it took my breath away! The boring conference room was redecorated to reflect the chic and trendy design of Details Details. I was more amazed as the training went on, learning everything I needed to know on how to execute a wedding days with grace and perfection.

What stood out more for me during this conference was the personal attention to each and every attendee. Jeannie, the owner of Details Details, gave me advice like an older sister and instilled confidence in my ability to coordinate a wedding. I also met great speakers and other educators like Christopher Aldama of Fiori Fresco. All in all, the two days of intense learning gave a great foundation for me to be an awesome wedding planner.

As sad as I was that the conference was over, I was super excited to implement the things I have learned. Each new wedding I was a part of, I incorporated a part of the training to gage what worked for me and what did not. Valuable and useable coordination information was not the only thing I took away from the Coordination CONFAB. During the conference I met a lot of fellow coordinators and mentor that I keep in touch with still to this day.

Overall, attending Coordinator CONFAB has confirmed my conviction and desire to be in the wedding industry. It gave me insights and valuable information to things I never knew. Also gave me a great opportunity for networking and finding genuine mentors who has wealth of priceless knowledge about the wedding industry through their years of experience.”

We are so proud of you Sam, and will support you in all of your future endeavors!
