CONFAB 2013 Day 2 Recap!

Day 2 of CONFAB 2013 also took place in the beautiful  Conservatory Room at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel. We began the day with a session on reviewing the essentials of the Planner Form and important components of the Timeline presented by Carrie Johnson of Details Details.  We then welcomed Persian Wedding Expert, Taraneh Ajdar who graciously shared with us information on the historical & cultural significance of the Persian wedding and what constitutes a Sofreh.

Following our scrumptious lunch in Scarpetta, attendees were let in on some of Jeannie Savage‘s trade secrets on how to be best prepared on the wedding day, followed by a mock rehearsal demonstration headed by Alicia Townsend.  What better way to learn about rehearsal line ups then to act it out yourself?  Following a quick tweet/social media break, the attendees then got to hear from Brian Press of Impressive Creations who shared with us his extensive knowledge on how to capture every bride & grooms special day in the form of wedding cinematography.  Brian also provided us with insight into what makes a great wedding planner from the perspective of a videographer – vendors work very closely with coordinators so we truly value the opinion of someone like Brian!

Another important aspect of a wedding planner’s job is utilizing wedding blogs as a platform to advertise your business, and who best to discuss style shoots and submissions than Summer Watkins of Grey Likes Weddings!  Summer is always such a hit with the attendees and the information she provides is priceless!

To conclude the night, Sunny Ravanbach and her team from White Lilac Inc. designed and set up a fabulous table top for our final Confab Dinner which the amazing Jessica Claire from Jessica Claire Photography shot while all of the attendees had an opportunity to observe and learn about the components of a real style shoot!  We are still dreaming about this Modern Garden of Eden creation that is both mysterious and sensual, inspired by Apelpi, an apple shaped phone charger!

Please take a look at these gorgeous shots of our Day 2 Tabletop shoot!

As with any large production, it took the time, effort, and heart of many people to put together CONFAB 2013 so we just wanted to take the time to thank some of the very special friends we have in the industry who many of them participated in CONFAB for the third time!  We are grateful for your friendship, and truly appreciate your support.

CONFAB 2013 was yet another huge success!  For those of you who were not able to make it this year, here’s a recap of the day’s happenings: We started the day with an energizing breakfast in Scarpetta where we all chatted and got to know one another.  We then moved into The Conservatory where Nisie Vorachard and her team from Nisie’s Enchanted Florist provided us with the amazing floral decor for Day 1.  This year we decided to go with fresh, earthy color tones that worked well with the style and feel of The Conservatory Room.

We then heard from our inspirational guest speakers of the day- Rhonda CouchigianGeorge NickelsNisie Vorachard, and of course our very own Jeannie Savage! Thank you for sharing with us all of your great knowledge and expertise!

Apelpi to Sponsor CONFAB 2013 Tabletop Shoot!

We have some very exciting news to share!  Read below to find out details!

I would like to start off by sharing a quick personal story:

I was out with girlfriends for dinner one night and one of the girls (all of us are moms) said her phone battery was dying and she was getting anxiety so she asked if she can text her husband to call one of us if he needed to reach her.  She took her husband’s car that night which has a different phone charger than her phone and had no time to charge up before leaving for dinner.  Hearing of my friends situation I quickly went into my purse and pulled out my Apelpi to share with her!  Using my Apelpi my friend was able to charge her phone right there in the restaurant without an outlet or a charger!  Pretty great right?

For those of you who are not familiar with Apelpi, it is a fruit shaped auxiliary battery that can supply your smartphone and tablet with multiple full charges when electrical outlets are nowhere to be found (genius idea right?)  I can tell you from personal experience that this product is something that everyone needs, wherever they go!  You know what they say, an apple a day keeps a dead battery away!

So what does Apelpi have to do with Coordinator CONFAB?  We are happy to announce that Apelpi will be sponsoring our CONFAB 2013 Table Top Shoot and White Lilac Inc. will be custom designing the Tabletop around this adorable product!  You will not want to miss what the extremely talented Sunny Ravanbach and her team at White Lilac will be creating for us (we can’t wait!) In addition, do you see the cutie on the bottom right,Theresa Huang will be styling the hair and makeup on our model.

Please See below for images of this innovative, portable, and very stylish product:
