Day 2 of CONFAB 2012 took place in the beautiful Garden Room and Garden Terrace of the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. We began the day with a session on reviewing the essentials of the Planner Form and important components of the Timeline presented by Carrie Johnson and Jeannie Savage of Details Details. We then welcomed wedding fashion designer, Michelle Rahn of Michelle Rahn who graciously shared with us her tips and tricks when dealing with the bridal gown on the wedding day– crucial information for a future wedding planner! Michelle also taught us some great ways to tie a bowtie, tie, sew a button, and pin a bout!

Lunch was served outside in the Garden Terrace where we were all able to chat and enjoy the sunny, warm weather of beautiful Southern California.

Following lunch, attendees were let in on some of Jeannie Savage’s trade secrets on how to be best prepared on the wedding day, followed by a mock rehearsal demonstration headed by Carrie Johnson. What better way to learn about rehearsal line ups then to act it out yourself?

We then welcomed renowned wedding videographer, Julie Hill from Elysium Productions to the stage and learned what makes a great wedding planner from the perspective of a videographer. Vendors work very closely with coordinators so we truly value the opinion of someone like Julie! Another important aspect of a wedding planner’s job is utilizing wedding blogs as a platform to advertise your business, and who best to discuss style shoots and submissions than Summer Watkins of Grey Likes Weddings! We were thrilled to have her join us and from the millions of questions the attendees were asking Summer, we know they truly appreciated her attendance as well.

To conclude the night, Sunny Ravanbach and her team from White Lilac Inc. designed and set up a gorgeous table top for our final Confab Dinner which the amazing Mike Colon from Mike Colon Photographers shot while all of the attendees had an opportunity to observe and learn about the components of a real style shoot! Be sure to check back when we run the the full feature on the CONFAB 2012 Tabletop Shoot! You guys are going to die when you see the tabletop–Sunny and her team really outdid themselves this time!
As with any large production, it took the time, effort, and heart of many people to put together CONFAB 2012 so we just wanted to take the time to thank some of the very special friends we have in the industry who many of them participated in CONFAB for the second time! We are grateful for your friendship, and truly appreciate your support.
Special thanks to all of the following vendors and speakers who helped us make CONFAB 2012 happen: Elysium Productions, White Lilac Inc., Wildflower Linens, SLS Hotel, Chivari Chair Rentals, Vive Entertainment Inc., Troy Grover Photographers, Kelly Aguilar, George Nickels, Ed Libby, Michelle Rahn, Summer Watkins, Mike Colon Photographers, Papermade Designs, Atelier by Dawn, Makeup by Berit, and Revelry Event Designers
